Radio Popper vs Pocket Wizard vs Phottix vs IR

8 01 2013

There are many ways of taking the flash off of your camera. In the beginning, it’s easiest to use the wireless function that is built into your camera and flash. Once you use that for a while, you’ll realize that the distance is limited, and it’s very hard to use outdoors in daylight, and most of all, you can’t put the slave behind a wall or anywhere that isn’t line of sight.

Off-camera flash is terribly fun. But the chief reason that more people don’t enjoy it is simply because it takes experimentation and training. In my YouTube videos, I share my experiences from my own experimentation and training. I want you to go straight to fun, without having to scratch your head figuring stuff out.

I own all of the radio slave triggers. I will show you the differences between the three, and why one is the nicest of the three :)

Totally agree. I’ve owned the RadioPoppers P1 and the JrX, Pocket Wizards, some cheap manual radio triggers from China (YongNuo) and the Phottix Odin. The Odin is by far the best. That said, the inexpensive YongNuo triggers are awesome if you don’t mind adjusting flash power manually.
